Bring home a German Shepherd.
We've been matching shepherds with families across Washington for 22 years. Here's exactly how it works.
The process
- 1
Submit an application
One application gives you access to every dog in our care. Tell us about your home, your family, your other pets, and what you're looking for.
- 2
We review within 72 hours
We read every application personally. If we have a dog who could fit, you'll hear from us.
- 3
Meet by appointment
We don't run weekend events. Adoptions happen by appointment, where you meet the dog with their foster.
- 4
Take your dog home
If it's a fit, you go home together. We stay in touch — for life. We're here whenever you need us.
Common questions
Is there an adoption fee?
Yes. Adoption fees vary by dog and reflect the vet care, medical needs, and time in foster for that specific shepherd. The current fee for any dog is shown on that dog's profile in our adoption listings.
Why do you require a fenced yard?
Shepherds are working dogs. A secure, fully-fenced yard gives them the room to be themselves and keeps them safe. We don't make exceptions on this.
Why isn't it first-come-first-served?
Because every shepherd is different, and every family is different. We've been doing this for 22 years — we know what works. We match for the long haul.
What if I'm not in Washington?
We focus on placements within Washington and the Pacific Northwest. We don't transport dogs out of state.
Can I adopt if I have other pets / kids / a small place?
Maybe. Tell us in your application — we have shepherds who do beautifully with other dogs, with cats, with kids, and a few who really need to be the only one. That's what the matching process is for.
